Poseidon is a minor character in the 1981 film, Clash of the Titans and its 2010 remake and the remake sequel, Wrath of the Titans. He is the Greek god of the oceans, the father of Agenor, the brother of Zeus and Hades, and middle son of Kronos and Rhea.
Background[]
Poseidon is the brother of Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Zeus and Hadesand one of the three sons of Kronos and Rhea.
As a baby, Poseidon and his siblings but Zeus were swallowed by Kronos, who feared that one of his children would overthrow him just as Kronos did with his father, Ouranos. He was given the trident forged by Hephaestus and the Elder Cyclopes. He, Zeus, and Hades created the Spear of Triam they used to defeat Kronos and used the Kraken created by Hades to defeat the Titans simultaneously.
Afterwards, Poseidon became the King of the Seas while Zeus became the king of the Heavens and Hades was forced to take responsibilities as the god of the Underworld. Around the same time that Zeus had Perseus with Danae, Poseidon had Agenor with Libya.
Clash of the Titans[]

Poseidon in the original film.
In the 1981 film, Poseidon sees Acrisius have the guards cast his daughter, Danae, and her newborn son, Perseus into the sea as he is in the form of a seagull. Poseidon informs his brother Zeus about Acrisius. Outraged at the king for throwing his own daughter and grandson into the sea (who is Zeus' own child as well), Zeus orders for Poseidon to unleash the Kraken, which the sea god controls.
Clash of the Titans (2010 remake)[]
In the 2010 remake of the film, Poseidon was the god who attempted to advance on Io. However, as she refuses him, Poseidon curses her with agelessness. He also had a relationship with Medusa, but instead of Aphrodite, it is Athena who curses Medusa just like the original myths.
Poseidon appears in the Olympian Council and bids his brother Zeus to listen to their brother, Hades, unaware of his brother's scheme to overthrow Zeus.
Unlike the original film, Poseidon has a smaller role and does not control the Kraken. Instead, his brother, Hades does.
Wrath of the Titans[]
Being one of the gods still alive, Poseidon joins his brother Zeus and nephew Ares and they journey to the Underworld. However, they are suddenly attacked By Hades.
Though Poseidon is mortally wounded, he is able to escape. When Perseus prays to his father, he and Helius are visited by Poseidon, who informs Perseus that his father was taken by Ares and Hades. Perseus feels he cannot go through with it alone because he is only half-god. Poseidon gives his nephew his trident and informs Perseus to find his son Agenor, who is with Queen Andromeda before crumbling to dust.
