Master Po Ping (born Lotus Shan) is the titular main protagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise. He is one of Master Shifu's students, Mr. Ping's adoptive son, and Li Shan and his unnamed wife's biological son. He is also the "Dragon Warrior", though everyone including himself refused to believe it first.
He was voiced by Jack Black who played Dewey Finn from School of Rock, R.L. Stine from the Goosebumps movie, Ignacio/Nacho from Nacho Libre, Jonathan Barnavelt from The House with a Clock in Its Walls, and lastly voiced Lenny from Shark Tale and Zeke from Ice Age.
He is voiced by Mick Wingert in the TV shows and video games except, Legendary Warriors, where he is voiced by Eric Loomis.
Po Ping was destined to allegedly become the next Dragon Warrior, born Lotus Shan to Li and his mom on a remote farming village populated entirely by pandas. His family also included his two cousins Dim and Sum. An evil, power-hungry peacock named Shen, who sought to avert a prophecy of a black and white Warrior one day to feed him, unleashed wolves on the Pandas. During the attack, Po lost his mother, each of them sharing a one last look of love at each other. He was eventually sent to a village in the Valley of Peace in a box for delivery at Mr. Ping's shop. Taking pity on the orphanes Lotus, Mr. Ping adopted him as his own son and renamed him "Po."
