Lord Petyr Baelish, also known as Littlefinger, is one of the main antagonists of the TV series Game of Thrones.
A former member of the Small Council who served as the Master of Coin for the Seven Kingdoms under both Kings Robert I and Joffrey I Baratheon respectively, he is the central cause of the events leading to the absolute chaos and war in the realm.
He was portrayed by Aiden Gillen, who also played Miles Jackson in 12 Rounds.
Personality[]
Books[]
Petyr completely hides his real personality to the public; he is modest, pleasant, charismatic, unassuming, and he is always socializing around with nobility and important rich commoners. He coldly murdered his wife, Lysa Arryn and framed her singer for it instead. He also had a twisted love for Catelyn, which later extended to her daughter, Sansa.
TV Series[]
Petyr is manipulative, deceitful and remorseless.
Another difference between them is that his "care" for Sansa is completely removed, as doesn't care that she is being abused by Ramsay when in the books he offered one of prostitutes to pose as Arya Stark and force her to marry Ramsay.
Trivia[]
- He is most responsible for instigating the War of Five Kings, personally orchestrating numerous conflicts and provocations between Houses Baratheon, Stark, and Lannister and ultimately dragging the Tullys in the hopes that he will come out on top of it all and finally sit on the Iron Throne.
- He seemingly loves Catelyn, and later Sansa Stark to some extent.
- But his love is an unhealthy obsession and it is not very deep, as well as it being a perverted projection of his twisted feelings for Lady Catelyn, so it's a minor prevention.
