Pete Ross (DC)

Peter "Pete" Ross is a supporting character in the Superman comics.  He is the childhood best friend of Clark Kent and they grew up in the same friendship group consisting of them, Lana Lang and Lex Luthor. Pete was aware of Clark's secret as Superboy and kept it to himself. He later became a senator and temporarily served as the vice president of the United States under Luthor's presidency. He and Lana married, had a son and then divorced.

Pete Ross was created by Robert Bernstein and George Papp, first appearing in Superboy #86. (1961)
