Patrick "Pat" Dugan is a major protagonist and the deuteragonist of Stargirl. Originally the Starman's sidekick, Stripesy, Pat created an android for him to fight him, and became known as S.T.R.I.P.E. on the suggestion of his step-daughter Courtney Whitmore. He trained her how to be Stargirl and use the Cosmic Staff.
Patrick Dugan was created by Jerry Siegel and Hal Sherman, first appearing in Star-Spangled Comics #1.
