~ P'Li thanking Zaheer for saving her |
P'Li is a supporting antagonist of The Legend of Korra, the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, serving as one of the three secondary antagonists (alongside Ghazan and Ming-Hua) of Book 3: Change.
She is the lover of Zaheer, and a vicious assassin who serves as a member of the Red Lotus, a group of individuals who are currently pursuing Avatar Korra. She has similar abilities to Combustion Man from the predecessor series.
She was voiced by Kristy Wu.
History[]
In the past, P'Li was kidnapped by a warlord, who trained her to be his personal assassin. However the non-bender, Zaheer saved her life and the two fell in love. They begin a romantic relationship and joined the Red Lotus on a dream to defeat any controlling government.
Thirteen years prior to the series, P'Li, Zaheer, Ming-Hua and Ghazan attempted to abduct Avatar Korra as a child, planning to raise her in their philosophy after being guided so by Unalaq. However, their kidnapping attempt with stopped by Avatar Cora's father Tonroq, Chief Sokka, and Lord Zuko.
Deemed extremely dangerous, P'Li was placed in a specialized prison cell exclusively for her. P'Li was imprisoned by Unalaq and Zuko in a fortress deep within the icy tundras of the North Pole to negate her prowess in the art of firebending. Also like her Red Lotus allies, she was brutally interrogated about her motives for kidnapping Korra, none of the criminals revealed anything.
During a battle on top of Laghima's Peak Suyin Beifong metalbent]] her chest plate around P'Li's head, causing her to be killed by her own combustion blast.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Firebending: Unlike others, P'Li was a skilled combatant and a powerful firebender, having been able to easily disperse a fire blast from a dragon using traditional firebending and generate her own fire when she battled Mako in Bolin while trying to capture Korra in Zaofu.
- Combustionbending: P'Li let out abdestructive beam of heat from her forehead which, upon impact, could cause a powerful explosion that would demolish most targets.

- Both also met their demise in the twelfth chapter of the third book of their respective series and in the vicinity of an air temple.
