Orion is a fictional character in DC Comics. He is a New God from New Genesis but opposes his evil father Darkseid, who is also his arch enemy. He is often serious and grim, but this often balanced out by his best friend, Lightray's optimistic and light hearted demeanor. Despite his relations with Darkseid, Orion uses his just godly powers to protect the universe from villainous and dark threats. He has also been a member of the Justice League and their divisions Justice League International and the Justice League Odyssey.
Orion was created by Jack Kirby and debuted in New Gods #1 (February 1971).
