Obsidian New Earth

Todd James Rice, later known as Obsidian, is a supporting character in the Justice Society of America franchise published by DC Comics. He is the son of Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern, and the fraternal twin brother of Jennifer-Lynn Hayden/Jade (who became a Green Lantern like her father), and the lover of Damon Matthews. Unlike his sister, Todd has darker powers due to his father suffering exposure to shadow energy after a battle with Ian Karkull. In addition to being a member of the Justice Society, Todd is also a member of infinity Inc and the Justice League America.

He first appeared in All-Star Squadron #25 (September 1983), and was created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway.
