Samuel "Sam" Alexander is a character in the comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is one of the main protagonists of the Nova comics, a major protagonist in the Guardians of the Galaxy and a supporting character in The Avengers. He gains a helmet that belonged to his father. It gives Sam powers and makes him become the universal police officer Nova, a vigilante tasked with protecting the Galaxy from galactic criminals who pose as a threat. However, he has become a member of previous vigilante teams such as the Avengers, Nova Corps and recently, the Champions.
