Nicholas St. North (commonly known as North) is the deuteragonist of Rise of the Guardians. He acts as leader of the Guardians of Childhood, right after the Man in the Moon and acts as Jack Frost's mentor and father figure

Background[]

Personality[]

North is a warrior with a heart of gold. Fierce, demanding, and impulsive, everything about him is larger than life. For North, nothing is impossible as long as he believes in it. North shows a fatherly side with Jack Frost, being one of the first Guardians to accept Jack without reservation and trying to help the young spirit find his place among the Guardians. He also displays a lack of understanding of sarcasm as when Jack sarcastically stated he enjoyed the yetis kidnapping of him with a sack, North is happy and tells him that was his idea.

Powers[]

  • Master Craftsman/Toymaker - North is also a master craftsman and toymaker, and can create amazing toys, some of them imbued with magical abilities, as well as invent magical tools and objects, like the Globe of Belief in his workshop, his famous reindeer-pulled sleigh, or his Snowglobes that become portals to anywhere in the world.
  • Enhanced Agility - North is surprisingly agile and nimble for a man his size, able to keep up with Bunnymund and Jack while dexterously navigates Tokyo rooftops.
  • Enhanced Strength - North's large size and his constant work with large heavy blocks of ice for his toymaking, strongly indicates that North is a strong, as well as a powerful man. While he is strong and can use his strength for combat, North prefers to wield weapons instead of using his own fists.
  • Fireplace/Chimney Teleportation - North can teleport through fireplaces to nearby chimneys and vice versa.
  • Master Swordsmanship - North is an strong and powerful swordsman. His weapons of choice, dual curved scimitar saber/blades, which provide him with adaptability to fight multiple enemies in his path. North is able to destroy Nightmares with few strikes.
  • Power of Wonder - North has an ability to find the wonder in everything around him which helps him in his creation of toys and inventions. It also boosts his faith in others and resolve, and helps him be jolly and a little childish but gives him a unique insight.
  • Omnilingualism - North can fluently speak to Yetis and Elves and to his reindeer and understand them with no issue. A yeti spoke gibberish to North and the latter understood that the yeti said that something is wrong with the Globe of Belief.
  • Expert Leader - For over hundreds - or even thousands - of years, North has led the Guardians into battle against forces with great leadership, and he is known to be very cunning and intuitive in battle.
  • Immortality - Like the Guardians, North is immortal and untouchable to anything that happens in time. His immortality allows him to perform physical actions that his physical age would normally prevent him from doing.
