New Protector

The New Protector, later known as the Great Protector is a dragon who appears in the 2015-2018 Netflix/DreamWorks web series Dragons: Race to the Edge, set in between How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2. He is an Eruptodon who takes over as the new protector of Defender Island and Defenders of the Wing. The baby hatched in sacred lava nesting grounds after being assisted by Fire Terrors and was protected by the Dragon Riders during the Dragon Hunters'attack on Defender Island.

After his mother retired to Vanaheim, the dragon embraced its role as a protector to Queen Mala and her people.
