After Prince Naveen's brother is killed by an alligator, he goes hunting for it in the bayou and meets Queen Tiana, who is also tracking down the beast. They manage to slay it, but Naveen is fatally wounded in the process. At Tiana's request, Dr. Facilier heals him from the brink of death, but then proceeds to take him to an unknown location.

In Hyperion Heights, Drew becomes Sabine's rival when he opens his own food franchise "Flamin' Cajun". However, when Sabine runs into trouble without a safety permit, Drew lends her his own, and helps her with her food van, the "Rollin' Bayou". Drew turns out to be working for Samdi, who later kidnaps him. However, Drew is rescued by Tiana and Ella when the curse is broken.
