Mera is a supporting character in Smallville.
She is an Atlantean native who married Arthur Curry sometime between his appearances from season 8 and 10, thus making her the future Queen of the Seas. She and her husband share the responsibilities of stopping Slade Wilson and his Anti-Vigilante Registration Act, no matter what the cost. However, Mera and AC learn to find other ways to stop Slade after she meets Clark and Lois.

- Lois sarcastically refers to Mera as The Little mermaid, a reference to Ariel from the Disney film of the same name. It is fittingly enough, seen that Mera and Ariel seems to be associated with the color green and they both have red hair.
- Mera and Arthur's relationship is similar to that of Clark and Lois's. Like Clark and Lois, Mera and Arthur didn't get along at all. However both Lois and Mera gradually fall in love with Clark/Arthur and vice versa. Additionally, both Clark and AC have a great destiny to be a leader (Clark as Earth's greatest hero and AC as Aquaman, the king of the Seas. They have vitrolic yet lovable relationship and both couples treat each other as if they were equals
- It is Mera's and AC's relationship that causes Clark to realize he has to treat Lois like an equal and a partner rather than keep her in the dark.
