Melissa McCall (née Delgado[1]) is a character in the MTV original series, Teen Wolf. She is a medic who is the mother of Scott McCall, the girlfriend of Chris Argent, and the ex-wife of FBI agent Rafael McCall. She is also associated with the McCall Pack, acting as one of the three paternal figures out the team. She was initially afraid of her son when she learned he was a werewolf, but finally accepted him for who he was.
History[]
Melissa Delgado was born to an unnamed man. Her father used to have a saying about the word "should:" You are "should-ing" all over yourself if you use the word too often." Something she would later tell Scott years later.
Sometime in the 1990s, Melissa married FBI Agent Rafael McCall. He gifted her with a special watch when she first started working at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital. She later gave birth to her son, Scott in the mid 1990s on either September 15 or October 16.
Season 1[]
When Melissa was working a late shift at the hospital, making it easy for Scott to sneak out of the house the night Scott was bitten. She later tears her son before his date with Allison before giving him the keys to the car (Wolf Moon). A few days later, Melissa realizes that Scott hasn't been sleeping well.
She announces that she's going to his first game and tells him to get some rest. Melissa later goes to her son's first game, where Scott helps the Cyclones win the game. (Second Chance at the First Line). A few days later, Melissa refuses to give Scott the car that night abs takes his food as payment. She later catches Scott sneaking in to see Mr. Myers, his former bus driver, causing Melissa to snap at him to leave. Later that night, Melissa is shocked that Myers suddenly dies from his injuries that Peter Hale inflicted on him. She returns home after and grabs a bat when she sees Scott's bed is empty and hearing something coming from her son's room. However, she screams upon seeing that it is just Stiles as soon as Scott returns him from his double date with Allison. Rather than drag the issue further of them disobeying a wide city curfew, Melissa resolves to just go to bed (Pack Mentality).
At parent-teacher conference, Melissa is interviewed by Adrian Harris about Scott who is required to attend because of his failing grades. Melissa is angry that Scott won't pick up his phone and leaves him a voice mail. When Harris inquires about Scott's dad, Melissa asserts that she and Scott are better off without Rafael. She says Scott feels the same way too but secretly wonders if he does. She later leaves the school in a fury and calls Scott again but like before, Scott didn't answer. Melissa first meets Allison's parents Victoria and Chris who both accuse her of being a bad parent because her son "convinced" their daughter to go on a date and skip school. As Melissa and Chris scold their children, a cougar attacks the school parking lot, causing Melissa to stay with Scott, who becomes distracted saving his mother and girlfriend but risks Noah getting hurt. Even though Chris shoots the mountain lion to save the sheriff, Melissa becomes shaken up at the sight of the dead mountain lion unaware that Peter Hale using his animal instincts on the cougar is what set of its attacks.
Over the next few days, the school going through renovation due to the damage Scott and Peter inflicted on the school gym during they fight. Melissa offers to let her son stay home after seeing him still suffer from heartbreak since Allison broke up with him. However Scott refuses and decides to go to school. Melissa later sees Stiles enter their house with a set of keys he had made and asks if her son is okay but he is unsure how to respond. She voices her hatred for these orbs of shifts because full moons bring on the lunatics.
Melissa meets Jackson Whittemore at the hospital who was visiting the doctor for aconite poisoning. He asks to use her computer, which Melissa allows. When Jackson leaves after using the computer for one minute, Melissa wonders why he was looking up Werewolves. However Stiles and Derek get Danny to hack into Allison's or Scott's phone and track who sent the message that lured Allison to the school to Melissa's work computer. Derek realizes that Peter is the Alpha and used Melissa's computer to send Allison that text.[2]

Melissa McCall is motherly, protective and selfless. Melissa is a compassionate, empathetic, and caring woman, qualities she passed down to her son Scott. However, Melissa is also unforgiving whenever someone threatens her friends and family, especially Scott. When she assisted Scott's plan to break Lydia Martin out of Eichen House, Melissa threatened to put Liam in one of these body bags is he ever tried to kill her son again. She nearly didn't get along with Stiles at first but Melissa makes it clear that she is the only maternal figure in his life since his mother's passing. she has also demonstrated a feisty, snarky, and tough demeanor as well, proving just how complex of a character she really is.
She is also so devoted to her son that she was able to bring him back to life after he was killed by Theo Raeken, though she had help from the supermoon that helped to strengthen his durability and healing abilities enough to return to life, even despite the fact that his guilt slowed his recovery. Despite her instincts to protect her son at all costs, she is mature and understanding enough to accept that his work as the True Alpha to the McCall Pack is what keeps their hometown safe from supernatural threats, which is what allows her to keep motivating him to do what he needs to do in order to protect their innocent fellow citizens from harm and actively assisting him in this mission.
She is a very hard-working woman, as evidenced by the fact that she has worked countless double shifts and night shifts in order to support herself and Scott,

- In this version of Teen Wolf, Melissa raised Scott on her own. In the original movie starring Michael J Fox, Scott was raised by his father instead.
- Melissa quickly embraced the supernatural world after being introduced to it in Season 2's Fury, although she did have a brief period of fear in which she rejected the truth due to being overwhelmed by the revelation that her son Scott and terrified by the threat of Gerard Argent and the Kanima under his control, Jackson Whittemore.
- Melissa shares her first name with her actress.
- It was revealed that Melissa's maiden name is Delgado, suggesting that, like her husband Rafael, she may have Hispanic heritage[1].
- Her father is mentioned in Season 5. He has been deceased since before Season 1.
