May Wong is a major character in the DreamWorks Animation/Hulu web series Dragons: The Nine Realms. She is the mother of Jun and Eugene Wong and a worker of Rakke Corp investigating Kullersen's Fissure.

Background[]

May Wong was presumably born in the 1970s, and was married to an unnamed man. Sometime in the 21st Century, almost 1300 years since the age of Vikings, May and her husband had two children with each other: Eugene and Jun. May's workaholic personality eventually caused her and her husband to separate, where they seemingly shared custody of their children.

When raising her children, May never approved of her daughter's obsession with dragons and the supernatural. Instead she was closer to her son Eugene, who pretended to be a good boy when he was really a troublemaker.

Personality[]

Unlike her daughter May didn't believe in the supernatural and disproved that her daughter believes in such nonsense. She is also very strict with her daughter and fooled by her son Eugene for being a sweet boy. However she's unaware that her son is secretly obnoxious and sometimes picks on his sister. However, after learning the truth of dragons, May is more accepting of Jun.

Appearance[]

May is a very short-statured Chinese woman black and white hair and brown eyes. She wears a long purple winter coat with a white fur collar and a black belt, white boots, black gloves, red glasses, white pearls earrings with red ribbons, and a tall cylindrical hat made of white fur that stretches several feet tall. She sometimes was seen without her jacket, hat, or gloves on, she has a white turtleneck shirt and white pants.

Personality[]

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Business and Management: May is a highly skilled businesswoman, who specializes in project management and work efficiency. It was for this reason that the Rakke Corps made her the Director of Operations at ICARIS.
  • Leadership: May has shown herself to be an effective director of operations at ICARIS. Despite her hardness towards her employees, May remains a capable and levelheaded during intense situations and has often guided the Rakke Corps personal at the station during such times.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible she has dwarfism.
  • According to Tom, May wears the same kind of hat at ICARIS as she did when they last met eight years ago.
  • May references a quote from Spitelout, "Rest is for the weak", in "First Flight, Part 1".
  • In “Uniconned”, it’s revealed that May’s unnamed husband lives separately from her, due to traveling around the world for his book signing tours.
  • She does not appear in Seasons 4 or 7.
