Dr. Max Patel is a major character in the sci-fi film Avatar and a supporting character in Avatar: The Way of Water.

In the first film, he was an RDA scientist on Pandora and works for the RDA. He is in charge of overseeing the process of synchronizing humans with their avatar bodies. However, Max was one of the few humans to side with the Na'vi during the Pandoran War.
Avatar: The High Ground[]
After the war, he was one of the few humans to remain on Pandora and became the chief scientist at High Camp and one of the leading experts on Pandoran research.However, the RDA returned, but instead of mining Pandora of its resources, they wished to colonize it.
