During the last days of the Age of Division, Fara was the Maudra of the Stonewood clan. She first appears in "What Was Sundered and Undone", where Rian comes to warn her of the Skeksis' crimes and brings Mira's essence as proof of their betrayal. He begs Fara to dreamfast with her to show her memories of the Skeksis draining Mira of her essence. However, Ordon had got to Fara first, as she believed Rian not to be in his right mind and that his sickness would spread if they dreamfasted. She ordered her guards to help capture Rian, but the boy managed to escape them bytaking the sword off of a guard and cutting the rope that held the chandalier and using it fly himself up on the ledge.
Overtime, Fara began to believe in Rian's claims of the Skeksis' crimes, and began to regret not listening to him earlier.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (comics)[]
In "The Search for the Dual Glaive," it is revealed in the comics, Fara was a young teenager and the daughter and heir of Maudra Vala. Fara volunteered to accompany Ordon on his quest to find the Dual Glaive. Vala forbade her daughter from going due to her young age. Little did Vala know, Fara had snuck into Ordon's pack. [1]
On the way to the caves, Ordon and Fara were attacked by an Arathim soldier. After being ambushed, Ordon was surprised to see Fara there. She attempted to distract the beast long enough for Ordon to kill the creature and stab it. However, Ordon scolded her for her arrogance in proving herself but found he had been injured. He told Fara to go home before continuing without her while also bleeding out. Fara called him a "stubborn fool" as he rode away on his Landstrider but the young princess followed him and saw the Landstrider that had been poisoned by the Arathim and she comforted it as it died. The two continued on and set up camp. However, in the middle of the night, the two were attacked by two giant turtles and suddenly fell into the water below. Fara managed to swim and save Ordon. Next thing she knew, Fara was face to face with the Mystic [2], UrLii[3].
Relationships[]
Ordon[]
Seladon[]
Because of Fara's friendship with Mayrin, she possibly knew Seladon since she was young. When Fara came to the castle, she expressed her condolences to Seladon over the loss of her mother. However, she was perplexed with Seladon's strange behavior. Because Fara had come to see the Skeksis were evil and unfit to rule, she was absolutely disgusted by Seladon's loyalty to the Skeksis, even with Fara challenging her to become the new All-Maudra, and she refused to ever acknowledge Seladon as their leader. Both Fara and her fellow Maudra, Laesid, refused to follow Seladon, causing the two women to leave.
However, when Seladon saw that her sister and her companions were right about the Skeksis all along, Fara came to respect Seladon again. Fara later died protecting Seladon, acknowledging her as the true All-Maudra. Instead of being a rival, Seladon began to grieve for her fallen friend and companion.
Mayrin[]
Fara respected Mayrin as both a fellow Maudra and a good friend. After her death, Fara seemed to be grieving, and gave her condolences to Seladon. With knowledge that the Skeksis killed Mayrin, it is one of the reasons why Fara was disgusted by Seladon's loyalty to the Skeksis, because they had killed not only Seladon's mother but Fara's friend. Fara also thought that Mayrin would be disgusted with how Seladon was running the Gelfling clans, once claiming that she would have followed Mayrin into a pack of Spitters without hesitation.
