Matt Daehler (also known as the Kanima Master) is the central antagonist of Season 2 of Teen Wolf. He is the master of the Kanima, Jackson Whittemore, who he sent to kill the people of the 2006 swim team due to being thrown in the Lahey pull when the teammates were drunk. However, the people he came after were not murderers, meaning that the bond was turning Matt into a Kanima as well. He also had an infatuation with Allison Argent, up to the point where he would doctor himself into photos and make a fake relationship out of it.

Past[]
Matt was a childhood friend of Isaac Lahey who was at his house for a comic book exchange. Over the years, Matt had forgotten what comic books they were raising, either a first edition Spider-Man or Superman comic. However, Isaac's brother Camden and his teammates had won the state championship. To celebrate, Coach Lahey gave the kids alcohol. However, the kids became too drunk and threw Matt Daehler into the pool as a joke. Unfortuanately, Matt could not swim and almost drowned untiL Coach Lahey saved him and gave him CPR. Lahey yelled at Daehler not to tell anyone about the incident.
The attack left Matt traumatized. He would often have panic attacks and hyperventalate. His parents thought he had asthma, so they bought him an inhaler even though he didn't need them. Matt has hated the Laheys and his friends ever since.
Death and Legacy[]
After holding the McCalls, the Stilinskis and Derek hostage, Matt was ultimately murdered by Gerard by drowning so the power of the Kanima bond transferred to him.
After Matt's death, Stiles' dad was exonerated and hired back as sheriff of Beacon Hills. However, the encounter also put a strain on Scott and Melissa's relationship, as the latter would hide in her bedroom, being terrified of her own child. Allison Argent distanced herself from both Scott and Stiles, as she was too busy plotting revenge against Derek Hale.
In "Master Plan," Jackson was finally turned from a Kanima then a werewolf when he finished his inner conflict.
