Matilda Wormwood is the titular main protagonist of the book, film and musical of the same first name. In both versions, she is the younger child of narcissistic and neglectful parents, Harry and Zinnia Wormwood, who have an older son named Michael, all of whom treat her abusively and ignore her intellectual gifts. In the end, she becomes the adoptive daughter of her teacher Miss Honey.
