Marvolo Gaunt's Ring is a magical item featured in the Harry Potter franchise. It is one of the seven Horcruxes created by Lord Voldemort that contained his one eighth of his soul in order to attain immortality. The ring once belonged to Voldemort's maternal grandfather, Marvolo Gaunt but it was stolen by Tom Riddle, who turned it into a Horcrux. Albus Dumbledore gained possession of the ring and discovered that the stone in the ring was the legendary Resurrection Stone
Before the ring was enchanted, Voldemort wore it. He used the soul of his father, Tom Riddle Snr, but the Ring was destroyed by Albus Dumbledore when it was in his possession. The curse imbedded in the ring would set off on whoever wore it and kill them within a year.
