Mallymkun, also known as Dormouse) is a major protagonist in the 2010 adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and the 2016 sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. She is a part of the Underland resistance who believes the White Queen to be the true queen of Underland and close friends with the Hare and the Hatter. Mally is reluctant to believe Alice is "the Alice" from the prophecy of her killing the Jabberwocky but eventually realizes she is the same.
In contrast to both the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland book character and the 1951 animated character, Mallymkun is:
A hot-headed, skilled, and fearless fighter instead of narcoleptic and afraid of cats.
Female instead of male.
The realistic size of a dormouse, compared to the much larger version in the original book.
When developing the character, the writers worked under the implicit idea that Mallymkun had a one-sided romantic crush on Tarrant Hightopp. Similarly, her hatpin sword was given to her by the Hatter.
