Acquaintanceship/Rivalry
- Started: More Bad Then Good (3x14)
- Reason: Stiles found out that his father was trying to solve the case as to why Malia had disappeared. He first met her when she was in coyote form and helped track Malia down. However, when they reunited in "Echo House," Malia punches Stiles in the face for "ruining her life."
- Ended: Echo House
- Reason: Malia punched Stiles in the face when she was reunited with him. If he wanted to help her, he would tell her how to turn back into a coyote.
Friendship/Sexual Encounter
- Started: Echo House
- Reason: Malia and Stiles sneak into the basement. While studying the files in the basement, Stiles had Malia check to see if the lichtenberg figure was still on his back, and Malia informed him that it was nearly gone, scaring Stiles. The two then began to hold hands, eventually beginning to make out with each other on the couch downstairs. Shortly afterward, the two found the body of the Nogitsune's previous host, Corporal Rhys, buried in a wall with a broken katana and a photograph of Rhys and a much younger Noshiko Yukimura.
- Ended: They were then taken captive by Oliver, who consumed one of the Nogitsune flies, allowing the Void Kitsune to manipulate him into forcing Stiles to let the Nogitsune have control over his body once again, going so far as to threaten Malia's life to do so. After Void-Stiles escaped Eichen House, Malia checked herself out of the facility, with Marin leading her to Scott for further assistance in saving Stiles.
1st Romantic Relationship
- Started: Officially in "117" (4x02)
- Reason: Malia found out she really liked Stiles and sneaking into his room in the middle of the night. Whenever Stiles woke up, she was there and left scratch marks with her claws.
- Ended: 4x07 Weaponized
- Reason: Malia saw her name as "Malia Hale" on the Dead Pool Hitlist. After figuring out that Stiles had been lying to her for months and kept the secret that she was Peter Hale's biological daughter.
2nd Relationship
- Started: Monstrous
- Reason: When Stiles checked into the hospital after being poisoned by the Chemist and nearly killed by him, Malia visited him in the hospital. Melissa locked them in the room together and the two ended up making out.
- Ended: "Ouburous"
- Reason: Malia tried supporting Stiles when he killed Donovan Donatali in self defense. However, when he shut her out, Malia broke up with him a second time
Friendship
- Started: 5x14
- Reason: Malia was able to reconcile with Scott and Stiles when she chose not to kill her mother. She and Stiles remained friends to this day. He is also her anchor.
Threats to "Stalia"[]
- Peter Hale: Peter factored into some of Malia's relationship with Stiles. Stiles never told her that her father was Peter Hale or that she was adopted in fear that Malia would become a killer like him if her ever had a chance to manipulate her. In Time of Death, Malia is in the Hale Vault she breaks into Peter's safe to find her adoption. After talking to Peter She starts to believe that she may be a killer like her real father. She blames herself to Stiles. In Perishable, Malia tells Scott about her conversations with Peter. She also says that she won't talk about Stiles.
- Ghost Riders/Claudia: The Ghost Riders were the reason Stiles disappeared. Claudia's presence prevented Noah from remembering Stiles and therefore, was the threat that Malia would never see her friend again.
- Stydia: Lydia showed some hints of jealousy at Malia and Stiles' relationship.
- Secrets: Stiles killing Donovan caused their romance to fracture and lead to their breakup.
- The Nogitsune: Nogitsune threatened to Kill Malia if he didn't take over Stiles' body again.
- Scalia: A rival pariing for those who thought Scott/Malia were a better fit.
