Majungasaurus is an extinct genus of abelisaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in Madagascar during the Late Cretaceous period.
Jurassic Park franchise[]
In the first installment of Jurassic Park, genetic material of the Majungasasaurus was used for half of the Indominus Rex's genetic make-up, thus explaining its prominent scale orientation.
The Majungasaurus later appears in season 2 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. They werebeing imported to Senegal to Dr. Sarr's lab through the Broker's orders in "Batten Down Hatches." They also appear in "All Night Long", where Yaz is targetted by a lone lioness before the lioness was killed by the Majungasaurus, Major, the secondary antagonist of Season 2.
