Mai is a major antagonist turned anti-heroine in the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender, serving as one of the two tertiary antagonists of Book Two: Earth and an anti-heroine in Book Three: Fire. She is also the main protagonist of the graphic novel Rebound, the deuteragonist of Smoke and Shadow and a minor character in The Promise.
She was the best friend of Princess Azula of the Fire Nation, and Ty Lee, and the ex-girlfriend of Fire Lord Zuko. After Zuko abandoned the Fire Nation to join Team Avatar, Mai ultimately chooses her love for Zuko over the Fire Nation and betrays Azula.
She was voiced by Cricket Leigh.
