Mai is a minor character in the 2024 adaptation of Avatar The Last Airbender. She is a non-bender, one of the best friends of princess Azula and Ty Lee and the childhood friend and crush of Prince Zuko.

- When Mai sees Azula taking things too far with training, she often stops her.
- In the fifth episode of the first season, she quickly stops Azula when Mai sees her fire turning blue.
- Adaptation Early Appearance: In the original show Mai doesn't appear until season 2. On Netflix she appears in the first season.
- In the cartoon series, not only was Mai one of Azula and Tylee's best friends, she was also Prince Zuko's girlfriend who she had a crush on since they were children. In the third and final season, both Ty Lee and Mai end up betraying Azula.
- Technically speaking maybe if Mai and Ty were more open with Azula, then maybe they could have turned her into a slightly better person instead of feeding her ego. It's why Azula never grows as a person. However they are both afraid of her to speak out.
