The Magma Titan is a minor antagonist in the series THe Dragon Prince. Like the rest of his species, the Magma Titan is a colossal sentient magical being connected to the sun Primal, made of burning hot lava and rock and living in the high mountains of Xadia.
It was killed by the Kings and Queens of Duren and Katolis and their armies, aiming to use its heart in a dark magic spell to replenish their lands from an ongoing famine. It's unknown if it was the last of its kind.

Although the mission was successful, Avizandum learned that humans invaded Xadia, where he confronted the party at the Border, where he killed Queens Sarai, Annika, and Neha, somewhat avenging the creature's unnecessary death. Viren used the heart of the Magma Titan to replenish the lands and end the famine. Despite the Queens' sacrifice, Viren was haunted by her death haunted him for years, often getting him to push back on others.
However, the damage was already done; for the quest of the Magma Titan left a profound impact on the Queens' families, including Sarai's husband Harrow, and the queens' children Callum, Ezran, and Aanya. Ezran and Aanya were too young to remember their mothers but kept their love for them in their hearts. Callum, while he has memories of his mother, still misses her and lived by her example of not only protecting Ezran but disregarding all forms of dark magic. The quest made Harrow hate the Dragon King with a burning passion for killing his beloved wife and ultimately led him to supply a drop of blood for Viren's spell. They used the spear that Sarai once wielded to successfully slay Avizandum, turning him to stone and stealing the Egg of the Dragon Prince, but making it look as if it had been destroyed. This ultimately led to a war breaking out between Xadia and Katolis, Zubeia ordering Ezran and Harrow's assassination, and Callum, Ezran, and the Moonshadow Elf Rayla forming a friendship and finding Azymondias' egg and returning him to his mother.
Viren later told the story of the Queen's sacrifice and retrieval of the Magma Titan's heart to the council of the Kings to the four other monarchs of the Pentarchy. However, Aanya and the others were not swayed by Viren's manipulations because Aanya wouldn't lose the innocent lives of her soldiers nor let the dark mage tarnish her two mothers' sacrifice to feed his own personal goals.

- If people listened to Sarah about the creature being innocent and showing compassion to it, then the Queens would've still been alive.
- Viren is responsible for Queen Sarai, Neha, and Annika's deaths because it was his idea to go to Xadia and take the heart of a Magma Titan.
