Dr. Madeline "Maddie" Wachowski, also known as Pretzel Lady, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Knuckles the Echidna) of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series. She will also appear as a minor character in the upcoming TV series, Knuckles.
She is the wife of Sheriff Tom Wachowski, the sister of Rachel, and the adoptive mother of Sonic the Hedgehog, and close friends with Miles "Tails" Prower, the Fox and Knuckles the Echidna (as of the TV series).

Personality[]
The reason why Sonic calls Maddie the "Pretzel Lady" is due to her ability to move her body in inhuman positions whenever she does yoga. She also cares for all animals, probably motivated her into becoming a veterinarian. Despite initially being afraid and weirded out by Sonic, she was horrified that Tom used her tranquilizer gun to knock him out. Kind and compassionate, Maddie loves her husband and sons dearly. She is willing to sacrifice for him as he has done for her.
Of the two, Maddie seems to be the most rational and level headed. Despite being piled up with information by Tom in a manner of seconds, Maddie remained calm and was able to revive Sonic with her smelling salts. Later, while Tom yelled at Sonic for causing an avalanche in Russia and making him open a portal on Hawaii, Maddie told Tom to calm down and for Sonic to explain himself. She is also fairly kind to Tails and Knuckles, who Maddie found was hilarious. Even when faced with death, Maddie and Tom refuse to abandon their son when Robotnik comes to kill them with his giant robot.
Powers and abilities[]
Maddie has a PhD in veterinary medicine, giving her extensive knowledge in animal physiology. Her skills in this field are evidently high, having been deem the most respected veterinarian in Green Hills. However, she has little knowledge about the physiology of alien anthropomorphic animals like Sonic.
