According to Kanan Jarrus, Luminara was a great Jedi master, brave, compassinate and disciplined. She was a master of the Force, had great patience and strong bravery. Though confident, she was quite arrogant at times, as she underestimated Asajj Ventress. However, when Ahsoka Tano saved her, Luminara acknowledged her mistake and thanked Ahsoka for her assistance in defeating the assassin. Those shows a selfless and honorable side to her. Despite appearing cold and distant that her Padawan Barriss and Ahsoka may have died, Luminara would still mourn for her Padawan, but would still remember and honor her, knowing girls would live on through the Cosmic Force.
It is revealed that Luminara died during Order 66 despite rumors that she was still alive. The Grand Inquisitor, who killed her, kept using her remains as to lure Jedi to their end. It lured Jedi survivor Kanan Jarrus and his Padawan Ezra Bridger. After they learned of her death, Kaan planned to spread the word Luminara was truly gone to stop luring other Jedi to thier doom and them being killed in Luminara's name.
