Lothal was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories in the Lothal sector of the Lotahl System. It has one sun and two moons. It was also the homeworld of Ezra Bridger, Arihnda Pryce, and Ryder Azadi. For a time, the planet's citizens lived with the concern that the Empire might attempt to retake it, but the Empire was now fractured by the threat of the Rebel Alliance. This allowed the planet to be restored to its former glory by the end of the Galactic Civil War.
In The Rise of Skywalker, though the First Order eventually took over Lothal, the people of the planet rebelled and eventually drove the First Order away and its justification was restored to the New Republic's.
The denizens who lived there were known as "Lothalites."
