Lois Lane is the deuteragonist of the Superman comics and a supporting character in Supergirl and the Justice League. She is the love interest of Superman and the cousin-in-law of Supergirl. Lois is an intrepid reporter with the Daily Planet under Perry White and in love with Superman and covers him in her stories. This puts her at odds with her dad General Samuel Lane, who believes aliens to be a threat.
She is initially unaware that Clark and Superman are the same person until he reveals his secret identity to her. The two later married, giving birth to the next Superman, Jonathan Samuel Kent. At first depicted as a damsel in distress, Lois proves she can take care of herself due to her military training.
Despite her military training and becoming capable of becoming a military brat, she became a reporter for the Daily Planet. Her father, Sam, disapproves of aliens and superheroes, resulting her in being closer with her sister, Lucy and her brother, Leo. She is mostly depicted as a damsel in distress in earlier stories, but once in a while, proves to be capable.
In the earlier stories, Lois is unaware of Clark Kent and Superman being one and the same, but has come to figure out his secret identity in her own terms.
