This article is about Lloyd Garmadon from the original series.. For movie incarnation, see Lloyd Garmadon (The Lego Ninjago Movie).
Master Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon is the main protagonist of the Ninjago franchise.
He is the leader and the youngest member of the Ninja team, only son of Master Garmadon and Misako, the nephew of Master Wu, and the grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master.
Descending from Oni and dragons on his father's side and human on his mother's side, Lloyd is the legendary Green Ninja, the Elemental Master of Energy, a user of Destruction, the former Golden Ninja, a Conduit, and the current leader of the Ninja and the former Leader of The Resistance. He is also the best friend/surrogate brother of Kai and Nya, a close friend of Cole, Zane and formerly Jay Walker, a mentor of Sora and formerly Arin and the love interest/former enemy of Harumi and the archenemy of Pythor P. Chumsworth and the Overlord.
As a boy, Lloyd was abandoned by his mother at Darkley's Academy for Boys for his own protection. He wanted to live up to his father's name by being evil and released the Serpentine people from their tomb. However, this all changed once Lloyd learned he was the Green Ninja destined to save Ninjago from the forces of evil.
From Seasons 1-7, he is voiced by Jillian Michaels, who voiced Kai and Nya's mother Maya, and Shippo from Inuyasha.
As of Season 8, he is voiced by Samuel Vincent, who also voiced Edd in Ed, Edd n Eddy, Krypto in Krypto the Superdog, and Sonic the Hedgehog's singing voice in Sonic Underground.
In the LEGO Ninjago: Nindroids handheld game, he is voiced by Karen Strassman, and in LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, he is voiced by Jane Collingwood.

They lead a resistance against Lloyd's father, Lord Garmadon, in retaliation for his cruel and merciless takeover of Ninjago City. Distancing himself from Nya, Lloyd was depressed at the loss of his friends and his powers, as well as the fact he would face his father again. However Nya felt she gave Lloyd enough space because they were both grieving alone. Nya swears that she will protect him and they would rely on each other from this point on since it was just the two of them. Garmadon sent Mr. E to capture his son but the bounty huner failed to do so. Unbeknownst to them, their friends were trapped in an alternate dimension.

Personality[]
As a little boy, Lloyd strived to be just like his father; cold and merciless. But deep down, these were just mechanisms for Lloyd to cope with his father being banished, being abandoned by his mother at a young age and being bullied by the children at his school. Due to a sense of loneliness and his only friend at Darkley being Brad., his attempts to become the next evil overlord of Ninjago were largely stymied by his inherently good personality—Lloyd's idea of "evil" was stealing candy, pulling pranks, and overseeing Ninjago from within a treehouse fortress, with his best attempt at an evil laugh being a rather melodramatic laughter. After being betrayed by the Serpentine leader and in his uncle Wu's guidance. As the series progresses, Lloyd grows increasingly distant from Garmadon and addresses him by his name instead of "Dad" or "Father" with the whole series focused on the repairment of their relationship.
After being kidnapped by the Serpentine, being saved by Kai, spending time with the Ninjas, he eventually became close with them, especially Kai and Nya since the latter saved his life and the former grew close with him in the "Hunted" arc.
During his time as a member of the Ninjas, Lloyd became more selfless and confident. Lloyd is the wise leader of the team and is fully dedicated to the way of the ninja. He is goodhearted and at times naïve, making him an easy target of deception by his enemies.
Lloyd also serves as the sagacious leader of the team, demonstrating unwavering commitment to the principles of the ninja. His kind-hearted nature, coupled with a certain naivety, renders him susceptible to manipulation by adversaries. Among the team, Lloyd is recognized for his composed and tranquil demeanor. Despite enduring significant hardships throughout his life, he has managed to navigate these challenges with resilience, transforming his experiences into opportunities for growth as a ninja. Ultimately, he aspires to become a mentor to his own students, following in the footsteps of his uncle. In spite of his good nature, Lloyd became angry with Harumi that she used him and took advantage of him. However the two continued to have a complicated relationship, with Lloyd admitting to her that he still has feelings for her.
Lloyd experienced profound sorrow upon believing that Kai, Zane, Jay, Cole, and Wu had perished at the hands of the Colossus, resulting in tears being shed. This belief plunged him into a temporary state of grief and despondency, as he grappled with the loss of his closest friends, his uncle, and his own powers. Such losses led him to question his value to both Ninjago and the Resistance. Nevertheless, with Nya's support and the aspiration of reuniting with Zane, Cole, Kai, Jay, and Wu, Lloyd has seemingly managed to transcend this uncertainty. Additionally, the resurgence of Skylor's powers instilled in Lloyd a renewed sense of hope regarding the potential return of his own abilities, which is a prospect he eagerly anticipates.
His relationship with his father was extremely difficult for him too especially since Garmadon was brought back to life, with Lloyd even referring to his dad as "Garmadon" or "Father" instead. In spite of their difficult relationship, they had some level of care with each other, as Lord Garmadon was immediately concerned for Lloyd being injured when the Destiny's Bother crash landed. In "Roots," Lloyd washeartbroken over his father's "death" yet again and it triggered his Oni form for a short while.
