Princess Lian is one of the tritagonists of the 2000 film Dragonheart: A New Beginning. She is a young princess who is the great-granddaughter of the dragon slayer Emperor Kuo-Fan, which causes her heart pain. Mentored by Master Kwan, Lian disguises herself as her mentor's son.

Lian was a young woman who was born a princess of the Imperial family. She grew up on the tale of how dragons no longer existed in the earth. Before Lian's birth, a dangerous dragon known as Griffin plotted against humanity. The virtuous dragons at the time punished him by cursing him to live forevermore as a human, the thing he very despised and took his heart as punishment. The dragons gave it to Lian's great grandfather, Emperor Kuo-Fan as proof of the evil dragon's treachery and defeat. However, Kuo-Fan took it as a sign that all dragons were evil and began a crusade to slaying ever dragon in the east. For a time, Lian owned the heart, which she had been carrying around in a satchel. She was trained in martial arts and combat by a Master Kwan, who became her teacher and father figure. Learning of a dragon residing in a Saxony Kingdom, Lian and Kwan traveled to England to see if the rumors were true and feared an ancient prophecy that a great evil would return when a two-tailed comment graced the night sky. She began disgusting herself as a boy and no longer attended royalty responsibilities.
Dragonheart: A New Beginning[]
At the end of the film, after Geoff is healed, Lian decides to return to her royal duties in China for a time.
