Leonardo "Leo" is the main protagonist of the 2023 animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. He is the leader of the Ninja Turtles and the brother of Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo. They were taught mixed martial arts by their adoptive father and sensei, Splinter. Leo uses Katana blades to defend himself from his opponents.

When Leo and his brothers were infants, Splinter and the four turtles were doused by a canister of mutagen, and, through evolution, became anthropomorphic beings. Splinter adopted all four of the turtles, and taught them martial arts through Jackie Chan movies and internet tutorials. The group lived in the sewers of New York City, but remained hidden from humans,

Personality[]
Being the oldest of his brothers, Leo is the most mature of the Turtles. Because he is the leader, he keeps his cool most of the time. However, he freaks out if one of his brothers are in danger. He also does not hesitate to protect New York City from Superfly.
His deepest desire is tobe accepted into human society and get a girlfriend, developing a crush on April O'Neil. However, she just sees him as a friend. At the end of the movie, Leo and his brothers are hailed as heroes and go to high school. Leo aids April in her investigations against TCRI, and prevent Cynthia Utrom from creating more super soldiers and save the world. .
Physical Appearance[]
Leonardo is a mutated turtle with brown eyes and lime green skinned. However, when he is fighting, Leo's irises disappear, turning his eyes white like his 2003 and 2012 incarnation. He is the second tallest of his brothers, being shorter than Raphael. Leo wears a blue mask, cloth around his elbows, knees and wrists. His belt is dark with his initial printed in yellow on a round buckles. Leo always wears his katana on his back

- Skilled Swordsmanship: Leo became a master swordsman at a young age and his main weapon of choice is a Katana
Trivia[]
- This is the first incarnation of Leonardo to be performed by an actual teenager instead of an adult. Seth Rogen, the writer and producer of the film, believed that the teenage aspect is always forgotten.
