Leola was a Startouch Elf, the daughter of Aaravos and the overarching protagonist of the second arc of The Dragon Prince.
She was the elf who gifted the first Primal Stone to humanity but was executed for causing a disruptance in the cosmic order, causing Aaravos' hatred for Xadia and the start of his own war.
Biography[]
Leola was born to the archmage Aaravos long before the Great division between Xadia and the Pentarchy; unlike the other elves, Leola was only born with one horn, causing Aaravos to nickname her "Unicorn." When others described her as quirky, Aaravos saw her as special and talented. Leola loved the world despite its flaws befriending many elves, humans and animals.
While Leola was teaching humans how to use magic, the dragon Anak Araw (who would later become the Sun Archdragon Sol Regem) let his xenophobic hatred of humans get the better of him. He ratted her out to the other Startouch elves. She and Aaravos were brought before the Startouch Council, who decided to execute Leola for disrupting the Cosmic order for teaching the humans magic. Aaravos plead to take her place but the couple could do nothing except offer to kill him alongside her. Instead, Aaravos comforted Leola when she was facing death.[1]
Her downfall resulted in the creation of the Sea of the Castout and the sea was filled with Aaravos' tears over the next hundred years. The brightest star in the sky "Leola's Last Wish" was named in honor of herself.[2] Ever since that day, Aaravos vowed revenge on those who wronged him.[1]
Book 5: Ocean[]
When Claudia, Rayla, Ezran and Callum fought each other over Aaravos' prison, they are seen battling around Leola's remains.[3]
Book Seven: Dark[]
While under the disguise of a human, Aaravos mentions Leola (while withholding her name) to Callum and Corvus that he came to see the large bones of Sol Regem because the dragon killed his daughter. After he offers an apple to Callum, Corvus, who holds suspicion, protectively stands in front of the young prince and rejects the apple for Callum.
Despite being taken back by the man's strange behavior, Callum offered his condolences about Aaravos' daughter before rushing off. [4]

- The name "Leola" is of Latin and Greek origin, and it means "loyal", "faithful", or "lion".
- Leola is named after Leola Roscoe, the mother of Erik Todd Dellums, the voice actor of Aaravos.
- While some justified Aaravos' actions, others such as Terry believe that Aaravos' is acting out of vengeance instead of love. In fact it is highly possible that Leola would have been ashamed by her father's actions because it stood against everything she stood for.
- Leola was autistic.
- Leola was misidentified as a unicorn in an earlier point who took pity on humans. However this was disproven and the true story was Leola was a Startouch Elf who was born with one horn.[1] It is possible that Leola being a unicorn was based on the abandoned concept that the Unicorns sided with humans and went to war with the dragons over it.
- Leola is by far the only Elf who has only one horn while others typically have two.
- Leola is the second magical being who is interested in drawing, followed by Prince Callum.
- The identity of Leola's mother is not confirmed yet. However another possibility is that Leola was conceived by Aaravos by himself or created through magic, as evident by her brother, the Being's death.
- The true meaning of the constellation "Leola's Last Wish" is revealed that she wanted every child to know they are loved.
