The Lemur Island is a location in Disney's 2000 CGI film Dinosaur. A formerly lush place inhabited by lemurs, it was ultimately destroyed by a deadly meteor shower, which is a catalyst to the film's events.
History[]
Plio, Yar, Zini, and Suri are seen living on Lemur Island when Plio finds a dinosaur egg. Plio is present when the egg cracks, then opens the shell and is happy to see a baby Iguanodon. She holds the baby in her hands and decides that she will raise him. Yar, however wants to get rid of it because dinosaurs are dangerous. However, to their surprise the dinoaur's got no teeth. Just as Yar is going to drop baby Aladar, he realizes that he can't because of how harmless baby dinosaur is. Even though the baby urinates on him, Yar reluctantly lets Plio keep the baby. She names the baby "Alador" and reaffirms that the baby will not eat meet. Yar warns her not to dop him on his head, out of concern for the baby. However, he hides it because Alador could bite Plio. However, even that point Plio can see that her father cares for him.
Many years later, Alador and his family have lived peacefully on the island. During a mating ritual, Alador's best friend and foster uncle, Zini has trouble because most of the women are not interested in him. Suri climbs up a tree to see a gentle meteor shower that had began to fall out of the sky, which ominously increases and lands in the sea miles away. The meteor shower increases until an even brighter object grabs everyone's attention. They all look up to see a large asteroid falling from the sky towards Earth.
Aladar promptly flees and takes Plio, Yar, Suri, and Zini on his back. Aladar races away towards the other side of the island as fragments rain down around him.Alador and his entire family are the only survivor's of the meteor shower'S destruction. The destruction of the island and the eradication of their entire clan causes Alador and his family to leave. The family decide to leave and search for a new home.
