Legolas' Mother is a posthumous heroine in The Hobbit film series. Apart from several mentions in the third and final film of Peter Jackson's film series, there is no mention of her in any of Tolkien's works and was created solely for the movie.
She was the mother of one of the series' protagonists, Legolas, and the wife of Thranduil. Since Legolas and Thranduil speak highly of her, the Elvenqueen was a devoted and loving mother and wife to her husband and son.

Thranduil was never given back the necklace that he had commissioned from Thrór for her. During the Quest of Erebor and the Battle of Five Armies, he was obsessed with retrieving it, to the point of marching to war. Ultimately, he had forgotten that his relationship with his son was of greater importance.
Role in The Hobbit[]
In The Battle of the Five Armies, Azog recently declared war on the heroes, causing Legolas to take his friend and elven companion Tauriel to Gundabad. Thranduil mentioned to Legolas before he left to join Aragorn with the rangers of the North that his mother loved him more than anything, even life
