Laura Lawrence-Weinberg (née Brown) is a minor character in the 1984 film,The Karate Kid film and a posthumous character in the Netflix follow-up series Cobra Kai. She was the mother of Johnny Lawrence, the ex-wife of Mr. Lawrence, the wife of Sid Weinberg. Laura was also posthumously the mother-in-law of Carmen Diaz, the paternal grandmother of Robby Keene and Laura Lawrence and the step-grandmother of Miguel Diaz.
She is portrayed by Sharona Spelman and Candace Moon.

When Johnny's girlfriend, Carmen became pregnant with his daughter, Johnny was nervous about being a father figure due to his absentee father abandoning him and his mother. Miguel even suggested Johnny try to find his father, Mr. Lawrence for closure but he never did.
Carmen gave birth to her and Johnny's daughter in the hospital, where she named their newborn child after Laura.
