Lana Lang is a fictional character in DC Comics' Superman and Supergirl franchise. She went on to becoming the titular protagonist of her own Superwoman comics.
She is commonly associated with both of the El cousins, Supergirl, being one of her mentors and adopted aunt, and Superman, being his ex-girlfriend and childhood crush. Lana later develops romantic feelings for John Henry Irons and they eventually commit a longtime relationship, becoming engaged. Typically during Kara's life on Earth, Lana adopts her as her niece, Linda Lang.
Lana eventually gained the powers of Superman, becoming Superwoman.
She debuted in Superboy #10 and was created by writer Bill Finger and artist John Sikela.

She appeared in the Adventures of Superboy television series in which Stacy Haiduk played her, and the WB/CW television series Smallville played by Kristin Kreuk.
In Superman: The Movie, Lana was played by Diane Sherry. In the 1983 film Superman III, she was played by Annette O'Toole, who would later portray Martha Kent on Smallville with Kristin.
Emmanuelle Chriqui portrays the character in the television series Superman & Lois.
