Lady Vivian is a minor character in the second season of Merlin. She is the daughter and eldest (possibly only) child of King Olaf who falls victim to a love potion by King Alined's servant, Trickler. She is said to be a future Queen, according to Arthur. According to Uther Pendragon, Vivian was like her late mother.
History[]
Lady Vivian was the princess of a far off kingdom ruled by her father, King Olaf. She is considered a very beautiful but rude, vain and selfish young woman. She is also one of the unattainable women in all of the Five Kingdoms due to her father's overprotectiveness. At one point, she was courted by an unnamed person, but her father ran at the person with a knife in his hand
Viviane accompanied her father to Camelot to attend a peace treaty that Uther hopes will lead Camelot and their kingdoms in a new era. Arthur is completely repulsed by Vivian's behavior, especially after the rude things she said to Gwen, who was assigned to be Vivian's tendant while she was there. After being given a love potion made by Trickler, both Vivian and Arthur fall victim to it. Aligned hopes to ensure war to remain in power. Offended by Arthur, Olaf challenges him to duel to the death after catching him "take advantage" of Vivian in her room. However, Gwen breaks the love potions power over Arthur through her true love's kiss. After Olaf and Arthur make amends, the King believes neither of them were to blame and the two leave Camelot, with Vivian still under the love potion's affects.
