La Muerte is the ruler of the land of the Remembered and a major character in Reel FX Creative Studios and 20th Century Fox's 2014 animated film, The Book of Life. Though La Muerte loves her husband, she and Xibalba have a complicated relationship.
Personality[]
Unlike her dark and depressing husband, La Muerte is a kind, truthful and generous goddess who believes in the good and pureness in mortal. It is from her own heart that allows her to see the pureness and goodness in each other. Though she has a strained relationship with Xibalba, they both truly do love one another. However, she did slap him at one point when she learned he had cheated in their bet on Manalo and his best friend to win the heart of Maria.
