Prince Kovu is the deuteragonist of the sequel The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and a supporting character in Seasons 1 and 3 of the Disney prequel series The Lion Guard. He is the mate of Kiara, the son-in-law of Simba and Nala, the brother-in-law of Kion and Rani, the younger son of Zira, the younger brother of the late Nuka and Vitani and the grandson-in-law of the late Mufasa, Sarabi and Sarafina.
He and Kiara fall in love as young adults despite being on opposite sides; but unfortunately his mother Zira tagged advantage of their relationship and seeks to use it to get Revenge on Simba and his friends and family.
