Kira Yukimura was a main character on the MTV series Teen Wolf. She is a thunder kitsune, the close friend/ex-girlfriend and second love interest of Scott McCall and a friend of Allison Argent, Malia Tate, Lydia Martin and Stiles Stilinski. Derek Hale states she is a young kitsune (Fox spirit), and therefore has little control over the aura she gives off.
However, Kira left the show at the end of Season 5 to train with the skinwalkers after saving Beacon Hills from the Beast. Like her mother, Kira wields a special katana capable of banishing people to the underworld.
History[]
Early Life[]
Kira Yukimura was born in the mid 1990s to Ken and Noshiko Yukimura. She was off Korean -Japanese descent and used to live in New York before her family moved to Beacon Hills, CA. She started attending the local high school two months into the school year after her father Ken took over Mr. Westover's job. However, unknown to Kira, her mother Noshiko was a powerful Kitsune Spirit who came to Beacon Hills because she heard rumors of The Nogitsune being freed by a Sacrificial ritual performed by the Trio, Scott, Stiles and Allison.

Powers and abilities[]
Thunder Kitsune Physiology: As a Thunder Kitsune with one tail, Kira possesses several supernatural abilities typical of all Kitsune, while others are unique to Thunder Kitsune, including power over electricity. In August 2012, Kira was another victim of the Dread Doctors' experiments. During one of their mysterious procedures, Kira's powers both augmented and dangerous. It caused her fox and human spirits to become imbalanced with one another. Being a Thunder Kitsune, she has the following powers:
- Super Strength: Kira is a Kitsune and possesses superhuman strength, although she is not as strong as a typical Beta-level were-creature. Nevertheless, she has displayed impressive physical power in various instances. For instance, she knocked down an Oni by hitting it in the stomach with a lead pipe, punched a solid obsidian boulder to break off a shard of stone and activate her healing ability, cut her mother's katana blade in half during a spar, and plunged the tip of her sword into a solid cement floor to create a sinkhole and capture Theo Raeken. Her amplified strength from the Dread Doctors' experimentation made her powers unstable.
- Super Speed: As a fox, Kira can run faster than the best human athletes. They are one of the fastest creatures in the Teen Wolf world. At full speed, she is not as fast as a demon wolf or hellhound, but it can run faster than most alpha werewolves. This was proven during the cross country season. At that time, Kira was just beginning to display her fox abilities, running extremely fast and easily lap the team's fastest human member, Danny.
- Super Agility: Kira, being a Kitsune, possesses extraordinary agility, enabling her to swiftly evade assaults, execute an array of gymnastic and acrobatic maneuvers, and split arrows in half while in midair using her katana. This greatly aids her in combat as it enables her to leap extremely high and far and combine her increased strength, speed, and agility to increase the force of her blows. This includes her reflexes, as demonstrated when she caught a wayward lacrosse ball seconds before it struck Malia in the face. Coach Finstock was impressed by her performance and asked her to join the team, which Kira accepted. Like other characters in the show such as Scott, Derek, and Isaac, uses her enhanced agility to perform high jumps, flips, and spinning kicks during battles. She ran on a car's hood, did a backflip to grab a live wire, and performed front-flips and spinning kicks in major fights against Oni and Nogitsune.
- Shapeshifting: As a Kitsune, Kira shifts her eyes from their natural Brown color to their orange glow orange-gold color when she activates her abilities. It is possible, with time, knowledge, education, and / or other tails, she can learn to change her appearance more than this, because Kitsune has been referred to as "face" many times, and is not a Kitsune. -people like Kira have the ability to take on human form when they reach 100 senses, which means they can see through human form.
- Accelerated Healing: Kira is immune to human ailments and has only experienced a sickness once after the Chemist exposed her and her friends to a modified canine distemper virus intended to affect supernatural creatures with dog-like attributes, such as Werewolves, Werecoyotes, and Kitsune. It immediately took. Kira heals from cuts and broken bones in mere moments. However, it may take her a few hours to recover from more severe wounds. Despite being born with immunity to human illnesses, Kira's ability to heal wounds did not manifest until she consciously activated it by causing herself pain. Interestingly, this phenomenon seems to be a common occurrence in shapeshifters who were born with their abilities rather than acquiring them through transformation. The Dread Doctors' experiments have enhanced this ability. She can now heal from severe wounds in an hour. An example of this was when she was impaled in the shoulder by a spear wielded by one of the Skinwalkers.
- Longevity: Due to being a spiritual being as well as a shapeshifter with a regenerative power that replaces his damaged and old cells on a continuous basis, Kira has many moments of her life. She is a normal person and will be eternally young for most of her life. His mother, Noshiko, is almost 900 years old (and apparently a seventeen-year-old girl as recently as 1943), which means that Kira will live for centuries, and Kira herself. It was announced that he expected to live at least 900 years like her mother.
- Information and Weapons: Kira participate in the battle at a high skill level using only her mind and muscles, without weapons. She stole a sword from an Oni and used it against the demon while she and Scott got to the vet. During a battle against the Nogitsune-fly with Isaac Lahey, Ethan, and Aiden, Kira used Allison's small bow with ease as Allison used Kira's sword. This ability is magnified by the Dread Doctors' practice, making her a more formidable opponent in a fight. Due to being influenced by Scott, Kira's fear of harming others causes her to hold herself back. According to Kira, her ability to fight with a sword "just happened," and although her mother Noshiko gave her sword instruction, she can do that mentally, suggesting that every Kitsune has a battle and a weapon.
- Foxfire Production/Electrokinesis: As Thunder Kitsune, Kira can create and control electricity, lightning, and fox fire. The Kitsune create foxfire by rubbing their tails against each other, but Kira's foxfire takes the form of lightning or electricity and she can produce it without needing her tail. This ability is often used unconsciously by Kira's Kitsune spirit to protect herself from those who intend to harm her, such as the first time Kira created Foxfire to surprise William Barrow as he attempted suicide (causing the city to go dark in the process). She unwittingly activated this ability when a CDC doctor tried to draw Kira's blood for testing. Kira used her foxfire power to stop a live wire in a hospital, but overuse can lead to consequences. She slowed Scott's heart and transferred electricity to light bulbs around Derek's house.
- Electricity Immunity: Kira is immune to forms of electricity and will instead absorb it with her body. She did this by absorbing the spark coming from the electrical wiring. It boosts her powers up to an extraordinary level. This, unfortunately, makes her kitsune spirit get stronger.
- Intuitive Bilingualism: Kira is fluent in Japanese, in addition to American English, despite never studying the language. However, this ability is not always consistent. When her Kitsune Spirit was in control, she can easily speak fluent Japanese. She admitted to Mason that even though she was Japanese on her mom’s side, she never learned the language herself. This suggests that the ability to speak Japanese fluently is inherent in all Kitsune, regardless of their upbringing or location, as demonstrated by Noshiko.

Trivia[]
- Though the physical representations of her mother's Kitsune tails were in the form of black ceramic daggers called kaikens, Kira's first and only tail so far is made of obsidian and is shaped like a shuriken, an Occidental throwing star.
- Unlike most Kitsune, who supposedly cannot take the shape of a human unless they are at least one hundred years old, Kira has always had a human form, most likely due to her half-human heritage on her father's side.
- Kira is identical to the way her mother Noshiko looked during her time as an internee at Oak Creek Internment camp throughout World War II, though whether this is just genetics or due to their Kitsune nature is still unknown.
