King Triton is one of the main characters of the 2023 remake of The Little Mermaid.
He is the king of the Seas and the father of Ariel and her six older sisters. Triton is fiercely protective of his children, but especially his youngest daughter.

Personality[]
Just like his original counterpart, King Triton is fiery and stubborn, a trait his daughter Ariel shares with. He is at first, xenophobic towards humanity because one man killed his wife. He is also, at times, overprotective, and holds his daughters' safety, particularly Ariel, in the highest regard. When Triton hears Ariel saved a human from drowning, in a fit of rage, he destroys her human collection. However, he realizes the error of his ways when his child ends up missing.
By the end of the film, Triton recognizes that Ariel has grown up. After giving up his life to Ursula and how Ariel fought for his, Triton realizes he must let his child go. Triton puts Ariel's own happiness before his, and turns her human by the end of the film so she can be with Eric. Father and daughter reconciled at Ariel and Eric's wedding, when she tearfully hugs him and says "I love you" for the first time.

- Conjuring: The trident can create a rainbow.
- Shapeshifting: The trident can transform its user or other merpeople into humans, and vice versa.
- Levitation: The trident can levitate other merpeople, objects, aquatic creatures, etc.
- Corporikinesis: The trident can manipulate the bodies of other merpeople or aquatic creatures, forcing them to do the user's bidding against their free will.
- Immobilization: The trident can temporarily incapacitate other merpeople, aquatic creatures, etc.
- Atmogenesis: The trident can create different aspects of the weather, such as rainstorms, thunderstorms, etc.
- Atmokinesis: The trident can manipulate the weather.
- Cryogenesis: The trident can create ice.
- Cryokinesis: The trident can manipulate ice.
- Hydrokinesis: It's the power to bend and shape water at will. It also includes freezing or boiling liquids in general. Although all merpeople possesses it, other creatures can also be granted water manipulation if they wield the Trident.
