Katherine "Kate" Prescott (née Flores) is a schoolteacher and one of the supporting characters in Spirit Riding Free, sequel to the 2001 film, Spirit. She is the second wife of Jim Prescott, the sister-in-law of Cora Prescott, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Flores, the stepmother of Lucky Prescott, and the mother of Polly Prescott and the aunt-by-marriage of Julian and Olivier Prescott.
She was orphaned at a young age and raised by nuns. She used to be a school teacher but prefers being a stay at home mom and a person who loves Lucky as if she were her own daughter. She loves her family dearly, to the point of doing anything for them.

Kate is an adult woman with orange hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. She often wears a collared teal shirt and long brown skirt.
