A version of Karai appears in the nickelodeon animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In the series, she is depicted as Hamato Karai, the leader and founder of the Hamato Clan. She is also the daughter of Foot Clan leader Oroku Saki, who later became her most hated enemy, the Shredder. She is also the Turtles and Splinter's ancestor.
