Kandace is the abusive aunt of Tory Nichols and the sister of Grace Nichols.
History[]
Kandace confronts Tory outside the Cobra Kai Dojo, hoping to attain her mother's disability checks. Tory refuses, knowing she will use it for her own benefit at the expense of her family. As Tory and Kandace are in a custody battle over her younger brother, Kandace taunts Tory over her dropout and being a criminal despite sharing a similar record herself. Before leaving, she points out she knows how to manipulate the court in her favor, causing Tory to swallow her pride and seek help from Amanda.
According to Kandace herself, she has the skill to manipulate other people, as she is convinced that she can convince an entire court in her favor of taking custody over Brandon once Tory's mother dies and Tory becomes 18.
Personality[]
Kandace is selfish and greedy who wants to take advantage of her sister's disability check, always demands it from Tory, which she needs to provide for the family. She also threatens to take custody of Brandon solely so she can recieve child support to benefit herself . She is also condescending towards her own family, not caring about her sister's health and even referring to her nephew at the wrong age and name. She is cruel towards her niece, constantly being condescending of her by labelling her a "criminal" despite Kandace being no different than Tory's slimey landlord. She loves pointing out hwo Tory is unfit to becoming Brandon's legal guardian when Tory threatens to fight her aunt for custody.
Kandace's overall greedy personality is likely what Tory would've become if she never let go of her rivalry with Samantha LaRusso, hadn't fallen in love with Robby Keene, and seek help from the LaRussos. THe encounter with her aunt caused Tory to finally swollow her pride and ask Amanda for help getting back in school.
