History[]
Between Stranger Things 1-3=[]
November 6, 1983-March 1986[]
At some point after Will Byers' abduction and subsequently, Vecna's successful possession of him, Vecna seemingly decided to go after twelve children and replicate what he did to Will. He started targeting Joshua by taking the form of a kind-hearted imaginary friend, Mr. Whatsit, presumably with the same "promise" he made to Holly Wheeler: protect him and his family. However, unbeknownst to Joshua, Mr. Whatsit was Henry Creel, the first Hawkins lab experiment, and a dangerous killer.
Stranger Things 4[]
With various murders happening around Hawkins, an unknown "earthquake" hit the town of Hawkins, Indiana. However, in truth, Vecna took the lives of Chrissy Cunningham, Fred Benson, Patrick McKinney, and, temporarily, Max Mayfield (Who was resurrected by Eleven). With each of their deaths, a gate opened. With Max's temporary death, a fourth and final gate opened at the Creel house. They rapidly expanded and converged on the town square, creating an earthquake-like effect, killing dozens of residents.
Joshua and his family survived the ordeal and were forced to remain behind in Hawkins, where the military set up a military base that quarantined the town. They were one of the few citizens to remain in Hawkins, where the military set up a military base that quarantined the town.
Stranger Things 5[]
1987[]
On November 4th, 1987, the day after Holly Wheeler was kidnapped, the American government issued an order that all children between the ages of nine and ten be transferred to the MAC for protection. However, Joshua and his friends were bait for Vecna (whom the military mistook for Eleven). Lucas, however, came in and took Joshua and Rebecca through the tunnels, where they were cornered by the Demogorgons.
Vecna briefly left the Upside Down and came to the military base on Earth, causing an explosion that knocked out most of the military personnel. Lucas's efforts to protect Joshua and the other child failed, and the Demogorgons were able to abduct both children, dragging them to the Upside Down.
1989[]
Appearances[]
- ↑ In "Sorcerer," Dr. Kay mentions that the military collected children from the ages of 9-10 in the Hawkins area for "protection", placing the children from Hawkins Elementary School at around this age. This means Holly Wheeler and her classmates are this age.
