John "Johnny" Lawrence is the secondary antagonist turned anti-hero of the original Karate Kid. He is also a minor character in the Karate Kid Part II, and one of the main protagonists of the TV series "Cobra Kai".
He was originally John Kreese's top Cobra Kai student but backed down after realizing what kind of man Kreese really was. After losing the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny's life turned upside down and remained that way into his adulthood. He is the estranged father of Robby Keene. In an attempt to reclaim his life, Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai Dojo and becomes a sensei to an entirely new generation of students.
He is played by William Zabka.
