Jessica Jones is one of the main protagonists of the Defenders Saga portion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is the titular main protagonist of the Netflix series of the same name and one of the four main protagonists of The Defenders. She is the daughter of Brian and Alyssa Jones and the older sister of Philip Jones, the adoptive daughter of Dorothy Walker and the adoptive sister of Trish Walker Losing her biological family, Jessica was adopted by the Walkers who became the heroic vigilante Jewel but abandoned the life of a superhero because of the traumatic violation of her mind by Killgrave. She moved onto become a private investigator working for Alias Investigations. Jessica briefly became a member of the Defenders to defeat the Hand and later, learned her biological mother was still alive. However, Trish killed Alisa, it fractured their sisterhood and friendship and later found herself hunting Trish after she became a villain with the death of their mother Dorothy.
