Jedediah (also known as Jed) is one of the main characters in the Night at the Museum franchise.
In the films, he is portrayed by Owen Wilson, who also voices Lightning McQueen in the Cars franchise.
Personality[]
Jed doesn't like to be put down because of the fact that he's a miniature. He loves to fight and is always ready to go on an adventure.
History[]
Night at the Museum[]
Jedediah first appears when he and his men capture Larry Daley, the new night watchman. He is the rival of the Roman military Octavius and constantly want to fight both.
This leads to several fights that Larry tries in vain to calm down on the second night.
When Cecil Fredericks, Reginald and Gus rob the museum, Jed must ally with Octavius to defeat them and together burst a tire from the former guards' van. The two then pilot a remote control vehicle tied to a bone to attract Rexy. While chasing Fredericks, they appear to die in the toy explosion but are revealed alive at the end of the night and return to the museum.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian[]
In the second film, several pieces from the museum will be transferred to the Smithsonian Institution, including the miniatures. This situation infuriates Jed a lot and he accuses Larry because he changed job.
Later, Jed, at the Smithsonian and phones Larry saying Dexter has stolen the tablet that Kahmunrah, Ahkmenrah's brother, wants to recover.
Locked in a container with all his friends, Jed decides to help Larry and escapes with Octavius but is captured by Al Capone's men. Kahmunrah traps him in an hourglass and in order to be freed, Larry must find the combination of the tablet allowing access to the Underworld.
In the final battle, Jed is freed by Octavius and fights against Kahmunrah's hench He later watches Amelia fly off from Larry's jacket pocket and is seen himself with Octavius on a small plane during a night tour of the museum.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb[]
In the third film, Jed watches a video with Octavius, of cats playing with light on the Internet.
He goes to the British Museum with Larry and his friends and gets lost with Octavius in the air ducts. They end up in a miniature exhibit in Pompeii but ignore it until they see the volcano erupting. Trapped in the city by lava, Dexter saves them by urinating on the schorching liquid.
